A. C. "Acy" Flora IV

2026 - 2028

Abram “Acy” Cline Flora, IV was born to the proud parents of Coleen Marilyn Livingston and Abram Cline Flora, III on September 25, 1979, in Columbia, SC. He attended public school and graduated from Lexington High School in 1997. While at Lexington High School he played 3 years of Varsity Soccer and was recognized as a top 50 player in the state. Following High School, he attended USC Aiken studying Computer Science. After college he took the position of Network Administrator for Gregory Electric Company where he remained for the next sixteen years. During this same time, he successfully owned and operated his own restaurant (2004-2014) before divesting himself to devote more time to his family and other interests. In 2015 Acy was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of the then newly formed Gregory Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Gregory Electric Company. With the assistance of his team Gregory Technologies has grown into multimillion-dollar company serving hundreds of companies nationwide.

 

On December 19, 2009, Acy married the former Blair Deloache Utsey. They have a daughter named Margaret Raye and reside in West Columbia, SC. Together they attend Mount Tabor Lutheran Church where Acy has been a lifelong baptized and confirmed member. Acy has served on church council and was the chair of the property committee.

 

Acy is the oldest of seven Grand Children of the late Robert and Raye Livingston and the nephew of Barbara and Robert Livingston, Jr. He is the son-in-law of Tommy and Margaret Utsey who treat him like one of their own. He contributes most of his success in life to the strong support he has and continues to receive from his family.

 

In 2010, Acy was presented with an honorary commission as a Kentucky Colonel.

 

Acy has contributed to his community as a board member of the Saluda Shoals Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting and protecting Saluda Shoals Park along the Saluda River.

 

Most Worshipful Brother Flora was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in Sinclair Lodge No. 154 in West Columbia, SC on June 28, 2007. He was twice honored by Sinclair Lodge No. 154 as Master Mason of the year (2008 and 2009). He served as Worshipful Master in 2011. He holds dual membership with Batesburg Leesville Lodge No. 138. He has also received many honorary memberships from lodges throughout the state of South Carolina. He received a lecture proficiency certificate for all three degrees along with the Grand Lodge Lecture Medal. He has served the Grand Lodge of AFM of SC as Grand Steward (2012-2013), District Deputy Grand Master for the 8th Masonic District (2013-2015), Masonic Services Association Committee Member for the 6th, 8th and 9th Districts (2015-2017) and Masonic Education Committee Member for the 6th, 8th and 9th Districts (2020-2021). Right Worshipful Brother Flora was elected and served as Junior Grand Warden in 2021-2023. He was elected and served as Senior Grand Warden in 2023-2025. He was elected and served as Deputy Grand Master in 2025-2026. At the Grand Lodge banquet in 2023, Most Worshipful Brother Ronald C. Mitchum awarded Right Worshipful Brother Flora the Albert Gallatin Mackey Medal, the highest award given to a Mason in South Carolina. He was elected Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina on April 24, 2026.

 

He is a Past President of the Square and Compass Club of the Midlands (2011). Additional memberships include South Carolina Masonic Research Society, Lexington Chapter No. 176 Order of the Eastern Star, Ft. Jackson Chapter No. 184 National Sojourners, Mordecai Gist Camp Heroes of 76, and The Royal Order of Scotland.

 

Grand Tall Cedar Flora is a Past Grand Tall Cedar of Palmetto Forest No. 206 (2015).

 

Noble Flora is a legacy member of the Jamil Shriners and a member of the Racers unit.

 

Brother Acy is dedicated to serving the youth of South Carolina having served as a Chapter Advisor for the International Order Rainbow for Girls and Palmetto DeMolay as a State Dad. DeMolay International recognized him for his service by conferring upon him the Honorary Legion of Honor on March 14, 2026.

 

Most Excellent Companion Flora is a member of the Columbia and Newberry York Rite Bodies. In the Columbia Bodies he has served as the Excellent High Priest, Illustrious Master, and Eminent Commander. In the Newberry Bodies he has served as Excellent High Priest and Illustrious Master. He has received the Chair Degrees of the Order of High Priesthood, Thrice Illustrious Master, and Knight Crusader of the Cross as well as the Super Excellent Master Degree (2008). He is a member of several appendant bodies of the York Rite, Columbia Council No. 157 Allied Masonic Degrees (2010) where he is a Past Sovereign Master, Palmetto York Rite Sovereign College No. 70 (2010), Samuel HJ Womack Council No. 20 Knight Masons (2011), South Carolina College Societas Rosicruciana In Civitatibus Foederatis (2012), Palmetto Priory No. 54 KYCH (2021), Carolina Conclave Order Red Cross of Constantine (2023), and elected for membership in Cana Tabernacle No. 49 Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest (2025). The College of Honors, in South Carolina honored him by investing him with the distinguished title and jewel of Knight Commander of the Temple of the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar (2026). He was recognized for his service to the York Rite with the presentation of the York Rite Sovereign College Service Award (2015) and has been elected to receive the Order of the Purple Cross, the highest honor given by the York Rite Sovereign College of North America (2025).

 

He has served the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of South Carolina as Grand Captain of the Host (2014-2015) and the Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters as Grand Marshal (2015-2016). He served as the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of South Carolina in 2019-2020.

 

Illustrious Brother Flora is a member of the Columbia Valley, Orient of SC, of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction. He is a Past Venerable Master of Alpha Lodge of Perfection, Past Wise Master of Will Chester Plant Chapter Knights Rose Croix, currently the Orator of Barron Council Knights Kadosh, and a Past Master of Kadosh of Columbia Consistory. He is a Past Venerable Master of the Knights of Saint Andrews and was selected as a Fellow (2010). He has served as Co-Director of Work. He serves as Grand Orator on the 32° KCCH Investiture Degree team. He has twice been honored by the Supreme Council by being invested with the Rank and designation of 32° KCCH on October 22, 2013, and coronated a 33° Inspector General Honorary on August 20, 2019.
